"Those who are afraid to fall, never learn to fly."

Löysin taas ihania quoteja netistä... Tällä kertaa liittyen syömishäiriöistä parantumiseen. ^^ Oikein positiivisia ja kannustavia pikku perkeleitä.

En halua päätyä samaan jamaan kuin Aimee Moore (kuvassa) tai joku muu vastaava surullinen tapaus. Mun on pakko kääntyä takaisin ennen kuin romahdan täysin.

"They say it takes, on average, seven tries to quit smoking. If someone fails on their sixth attempt, it doesn't mean they're a failure; it just means they haven't hit that seventh attempt yet. Recovery from eating disorders is like that. Missing the mark once doesn't make you a failure; slipping repeatedly doesn't mean you're hopeless. It just means you haven't tried enough times yet."- Dr. Caryn Bello

"If you don't take care of your body, where will you live?"

"...it's not about surviving, its about living." -Jenni Shafer

"Binges are signals that something is terribly wrong, that you are not giving yourself what you need - either physically (with food) or emotionally (with intimacy, work, relationships). They are your last stand against deprivation."

"Think back to a recent important event. It could be a vacation, graduation party, wedding, or night out with friends. Did you look forward to it, or were you obsessing about food and calories? Did you laugh and have fun, or were you concentrating on ways to avoid eating? Did you converse with other people, or did you carry on an inner dialogue about your weight and worthlessness? Can you see how an
orexia seeps into all aspects of your experience? It distances you from yourself and others, preoccupies your mind, numbs your feelings, ruins your health, and diminishes the quality and meaning of almost everything that you do. What you think you are controlling is really controlling you. It may be slowly killing you."

"You can NOT measure pain on a scale... ALL people with Eating Disorders suffer."

"Scales only have the power which we bestow upon them. Imagine if I said "My self-worth is determined by the toaster." -Kensington

"People don't understand that those with anorexia are not shallow. They feel too much. They feel the need to whither like their feelings."

"Being in recovery from my eating disorder is the scariest but best thing I have EVER done. I only wish all the people who have this problem could have the courage to begin this journey. It's HARD work every day, but the reward is living instead of committing suicide slowly. You are worth it. No matter how much your disorder has warped you, you will ALWAYS be worth recovery."

"There is no person on this earth who exhibits more strength, courage, and dignity on a daily basis than an addict in recovery." -Susan Shoemaker

"Fall down seven times, stand up eight"

"Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the judgment that there is something more important than fear." -The Princess Diaries

"We could never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world." -Helen Keller

"The best way out is always through." -Robert Frost

"The farther you walk away from your problems, the longer the walk back to fixing them is."

"Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle."

"The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running"

"Carefully watch your THOUGHTS, for they become your WORDS. Manage and watch your WORDS, for they will become your ACTIONS. Consider and judge your ACTIONS, for they have become your HABITS. Acknowledge and watch your HABITS, for they shall become your VALUES. Understand and embrace your VALUES, for they become YOUR DESTINY." Mahatma Gandhi
"Your body is a temple, but only if you treat it as one." -Astrid Alauda

"To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." - Anatole France

"Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough." -Og Mandino

"The best feeling in the world is finally knowing you took a step in the right direction, a step towards the future where everything that you never thought was possible, IS possible."

"The first step in recovering from anorexia is simply to choose life. You don't even have to know how in order to make this choice, but you must affirm, at a very basic level, that you want to live. Think about it: anorexia does not really allow you to live - it enables you to survive, and sometimes just barely that."

"People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within"~ Elizabeth Kubler Ross
"I cling to my imperfections as the essence of my being." -Anatole France

"If you hear a voice within you say "you cannot paint", then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced." -Vincent Van Gogh
